You may count 13 but we have 12 in all that are ours. Our daughter has her only so far newly hatched Silkie in the bunch too. (she called and told me she has 3 more that may hatch soon) I'm still having a hard time telling all of the yellow/gold chicks apart. I hope to get good close up shots of our chicks tomorrow. So far the little Silkie is doing better. I haven't seen anymore blood in her poops. She is running around and eating and drinking on her own now. I want to thank y'all for being there for me while I was freaking out.

They kinda look different sizes, BUT... one is always crouching low with its head drawn in to its body. While the other one is always kinda standing or standing tall, with its neck extended.

But the last time I had two that were very obviously different sizes, while being the same breed/age, they ended up being a male and female. The smaller was a female silkie, the bigger was a male.

Gafarm, its called "chicken fever" unlike its cousin chicken pox, you get itchin to have more chicks. Only cure well, I dont believe they've found one. Highly contagious, seeing images of fuzzy butts cause rash decisions to buy more. Not having money seems to reduce symptoms but cash in pocket will cause relapse of illness. Doctors will not treat lol. Hubbies and significant others as well as relatives beware.
Glad to hear the baby silky doing better. Went to market today boy poor sight chickens. Even the fancies had bad feet, deformed toes and over all looked poorly. Even rabbits. Guess taking good care of animals will take time. Saw a few monster roos. I swear they're big as a pug dog. I want me a turkey still but I want a baby and some guineas too. Get my place first so no turkey this year seeing as I want a big guy to eat, buy a pair so I can raise my own.
