YO GEORGIANS! :)

Just watched a yote carry off one of our oldest ducks and couldn't get to the rifle in time to do a dang thing about it. Feel so useless! Headed down to the agrisupply to get more steel traps and lure. That b@$+@#d has to die!

Out of the 12 I started with I think I have 2 more roosters. Slaughtered 2 Saturday. Rotisseried 1 yesterday and had chicken salad from the leftovers. So what do you guys think. This one a rooster?

Welp, I am officially screwed on my duck to drake ratio. Two ducks and four drakes. Looks like I need to get ready to separate everybody next spring unless I somehow get a few mallard hens between then and now. If I separate them next spring when should I start to be sure that I get only pure ducklings?

On the other hand my runners are adorable and growing wonderfully, though I think that the younger one is a bit on the small side and they aren't very attached to me, not even a little bit. They don't run from me like I'm going to kill them but they still won't come to me when I call. :(

Well, in my limited experience, if they are truly Mallards they will pair off on their own fairly quickly. And my male Mal doesn't allow any Pekin, etc within breeding distance of his lady. :)

I was out since 730 this morning, went with a friend into Tripoli and then took my ppr pipes to my nephews and he helped me build the panels in about 20 minutes. Loaded them into the car then went back to Tripoli to a Pet shop and then home. Since the largest panels were 6x7 ft I had to toss a rope over my balcony and haul them up. The house has no fresh water again so I get to fill 10 water bottles tomorrow and finish putting my coop together. My nephew liked myidea and asked me to find some nice designs for a coop and bird house. So another busy day tomorrow.
