YO GEORGIANS! :)

Good Noontime! Where is everyone? Guess I will have to post some pictures.
Let's look at small babies today, boys and girls.

Now, let's look at something ugly!

Now, something cute

I think my box turtle population just doubled today thanks to a rainy night and a cooler damp morning...

Plus someone picked up a mud turtle too.

I need to build an entire turtle habitat, huh?

Hi everyone, hope your weekend is going well.

I just wanted to say that I'm taking a small break from the forums after a really hard week at the farm. The flock of 10 Ancona ducks and 3 Welsh Harlequin that I absolutely adored were lost to an unnamed event this week. Five bodies were found, very little damage, and scattered throughout the 15 acres. No trace of the other eight, no tracks discernable, and somehow the chaos escaped the game camera wHich is mostly focused on the rabbit barn. The duck pen (uncovered) was undisturbed, and no litter of feathers. I'm thinking two - legged predators, with a dog (or the dog came later and got the Ducks left behind and out of the pen). I'm devastated.

The only bright spot is the few EE eggs I've got hatching, and the 11 CCL eggs in Lockdown. I have about five turkey eggs about to go into lockdown, but I'm not so optimistic about them. It seems that they are really sensitive to the vibration of the egg turner, as most seem to quit. I'm thinking I'll try hand turning a batch next. Anyhow, have a good week all, and I will be back in a bit.

I know it wouldn't be anywhere near as good, but you're welcome to the pekins and crested swedish here. The kids got them with the promise that they would take care of them, and haven't. I'm paying for food and water, and I'm the only one actually going outside to give it to them. I never wanted ducks, so off they go!

My oldest roo was December born, the hen I got seems bit bigger but I was told she isnt old enough yet. Her comb is a dull pink. My roos is huge and bright red. The others on my balcony are within 3 weeks of each other between march 24th and april 4th. Two have begun to crow but my NN has gone quiet while the other is practicing lol. 5 others have more advanced combs and are reddish in color while the remaing chicks combs have not developed and are pink or black or mottled in color. I will take pics tomorrow since I had company today. My roo upstairs finally has sickle feathers as his feathers had been cut when I got them. Ive looked at feather growth on the younger ones but most seemed rounded. Plus I have no clue to any breed info on them. My roo has gone silvery white and is lovely. Maybe pics will help now since they are more feathered out now. Its after 11pm so nite all.
