Hi Snakey! Welcome to BYC's Georgia thread! Stay safe tonight.

Good morning. Hope all are safe. The storms were rough. My husband was out rescuing very wet chickens. I need to go out and see again about everyone some more. My prayers are with everyone and hope you and animals are fine. Our white silkies are not very smart. Everyone was out walking in the rain. I'm concerned about them but we are doing all we can. The damage though is nothing compared to all that I see on the tv and web, My heart goes out to all...Okay nebulizer treatment is over and time to head out. Take care everyone. Nancy

Glad all is well, Nancy. We are under the Tornado Watch this morning and a Flood Watch. The chickens get to stay in the coop this morning as your DH seems to be too busy at your place to come down and rescue mine!

Hope all stay safe today.

Anyone here live in or near Barnesville? If you do, there is a lost Black/Blue Chow in the area. Please PM me if seen or found. He was being fostered and broke free when being taken to the Barnesville Animal Clinic. He has not shown any aggression, he is just fearful of people from his past experiences. Thanks!

Hi to all, Well, I didn't finish up all the pens checking. There was one drowned wheaten marans hen..poor dear,. Everyone else was on the roost, but she must have decided to stroll about.....This one didn't like to roost. She was just a little unique that way... I'm so sorry but I know losses could have been much much more. That sweet husband was out working in the rain and storm to hay and work with everyone. I think it's time to start building that chicken barn and just use all these chicken trailers for places to go and get fresh grass etc.... But how many hours a day would that take??? As he said it was a sudden rain, with more water than the ground could absorb, The lake across the way was filled to the top, something we haven't see in years. I'm so grateful that our little extra work was nothing compared to so many. So I'm definitely counting blessings. Dinner is cooked and I think it's time to rest!

Hello from Warrenton! Country living, with lots of chickens around.
Just lost my 3 y.o. RIR to a predator last weekend, and my boys and I got 8 more chicks on Tuesday.
2 each:
Buff Orps
RIRs
Barred Rocks
Leghorns
They are growing like fertilized weeds in the brooder in my barn.
I've gotta make a larger coop!

Dan
