YO GEORGIANS! :)

While I can respect that is how you feel I don't think we can categorically state as a fact that they are not pets, to some, they clearly are. No matter their fragility or life expectancy or how some use them. After all some people eat cats, alligators, and zebra. While Chickens are livestock, they doesn't mean they can't be pets. Just because some horses are race horses doesn't mean they can't be pets. My chickens ARE pets, no matter if you can see or accept it or wrap your head around it, it is what they are.

Mine are definitely pets and I'm sure they will live infinitely longer than my hamster

This was for picture purposes. But rooster cogburn follows me everywhere. If I stand still he attempts to mate my feet dance and all. He flies up andsits on my shoulder or head. He loves me.....any other rooster love stories?

I agree it is ones choice to make chickens pet or livestock. It depends on the number I think and the personal attachment you have to the chicken. I personally love my chicken...I sit out with them and give them treats ...... now there are some I have no attachment to. Im giving them to a friend. Pet in in the eye of the chicken owner
