YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hey there! I am looking to buy fertile eggs for pickup. I live in Bainbridge (SW Georgia). I'm willing to drive an hour or more, but I need them in the next couple of days. My city slicker nieces are coming and I want to time the hatch to coincide with their trip! Any breed is fine, a mix would be best. PM me details. Thanks much!!!!

I am in Ochlocknee, not far from you, I'll PM you.

Does anyone know of any swaps, meets or auctions in the surrounding Thomaston area? I have a bunch of roosters that need new homes. Thanks!

This is Buggy Town Auction in Barnesville every Friday night.. and in Gray there is Wayside Auction on Saturday.. not sure how far either of these are from you.. but an option

THANK YOU! My boys are beating the crap out of each other and I need to get rid of some! The fighting seemed to increase as the heat rose over the past 2 days. Barnesville is pretty close and I will have to check out how far Gray is from me.

That Buggytown auction is pretty good size, but they don't get to the poultry until after everything else. I went one Friday night and finally threw in the towel about 9:45. They were still on other livestock. Too late for me. Never been to the one in Gray. Last couple years there was one on Saturday morning in Woodbury, which is close. Dunno if they still have it. They usually advertise it in Craigs List. Good luck.........Pop

Thanks for the heads up on that. Maybe I will go check it out first before taking my boys over there. That is pretty darn late. I will see what I can find out about the one in Woodbury too.

I am kind of new to BYC, been lurking for a while. New to having my own chickens. First batch are 4 weeks old today. Second batch is 1 week on Wednesday. I live in south Georgia, Tift County. I've gone nuts over chickens....my friends, my coworkers, my significant other, even my own children (oops, almost wrote chickens) are questioning my sanity!!!!

Welcome to BYC, and to Yo Georgians, this place has been great for my poultry addictions. I liked them before I ever saw this place, Before BYC, I had never know of a blue orpington, let alone a lavendar one!!!! I thought silkies only came in white!!!! I never realized the large variety of available poultry and even after I proclaimed my hatchaholic tendencies, I was tempted with more colors and varieties, and so we grew from 25 poultry to over 500...........Now I'm trying to be a egg pusher instead of a hatchaholic. But somehow this doesn't work, as now as soon as I have a little egg money saved up,, lol, I'm looking at pictures again.... Most all of my very closest friends raise poultry. Only they can understand my Love of them..... And remember there's always room for one more (baby chick)............Now I have to share a pic with you that shows how much I love our birdies! Nothing like some time with my silkies! Have a great time here and on BYC!

I'm looking for some fertile guinea eggs. The potential for damage to shipped eggs is just too high. If you're in N. GA., I'd love to buy some of your guinea eggs~ I'm in Dahlonega. Please send me a Private Message. Thanks.
