YO GEORGIANS! :)

RRI and Barred Rocks, You are prob right, I was just guesstimating about what I read online, some reason I got 19 weeks stuck in my head....So maybe December eggs? LOL
Our RIRs, BSL and Australorp all starting laying around 20 weeks. Although the BSL has had some problems with her egg shells being too thin. After I changed their feed and added egg shell to the oyster shell feeder she has been doing much better.

Beautiful colors! Is that a powder blue egg I see?

My prettiest blue eggs come from my 'Super Blue Egg Layers' from DMRippy out of Tenn. She crosses White or Exchequer leghorns with either Lavender Ameraucanas or Crested Cream Legbars. They are regular layers, except I am frustrated with one hen. We had named her Oreo, but she escapes every single day and lays her eggs somewhere in the woods now! I have clipped her wings, so she is not going over the fence. Every day we let her out, she runs the edges of the perimeter until she finds some weak spot and she literally digs herself a hole under the fence! Every night she comes back and waits for me to put her back in the coop! We have changed her name to Houdini. And there is probably a really nice pile of beautiful blue eggs somewhere out there! BOOOO!

Oh no! I hope you are able to find where she is going and keep her closer to home. You saying that about Houdini makes me laugh. We just got an EE pullet from our neighbor by catching her. My DH named her Ginny which sounds like he is saying Genie. It took us around 2 hours to catch her. She is black and hard to see in the trees. Her and a little American Game roo had been roosting in one of our Plum trees. Early Saturday morning we discovered the roo had been killed by who knows what. I cried my eyes out when we found him. Then we set out to catch her so we could hopefully keep her in with our other young chickens in the large coop and run. We had planned on keeping both her and the roo but we were too late. We have been working on a new 6ft tall fence around a large area of our acre close to our home where our older chickens roam each day. I hope we are able to finish it this weekend. I now have 3 EE pullets and should be getting eggs from them by Halloween. I can't wait to see what color their eggs will be. I just realized it sounded like we stole her but I told our neighbor what happened and he said we could keep her. Our neighbors are moving back to NC.

All this weekend talk.....How 'bout them DAWGS! BEAT CLEMSON!!!!!!!!! OH and how about my new babies!!! Just got some bantam chicks....and they are seriously the mostvadorable things I've ever seen! Its 4 Mottled Cochin Bantams and 5 White Crested Black Polish Bantams. Anyone ever had any of these??
.
We have a pair of sliver laced bantam Cochin, so fun to watch in the yard, the little roo will even take on the turkeys. The hen has 4 eggs that she is setting on and I have 5 in the bator that are due to hatch tomorrow.

I'm in northwest Georgia, between Fort Oglethorpe and Ringgold, in Catoosa county. I hatched a dozen chicks last weekend! When they get a little bigger, I'd be game to meet for a swap!

I have for sure some Easter Eggers, one or two Rhode Island Reds, a suspected Black Jersey Giant, and the rest are mystery birds! Seeing what they grow up to be will be an adventure!
