YO GEORGIANS! :)

My little ones (these are only a few) love to sit on the roost during the day and occasionally take naps but at night....no such luck! lol They all want to pile on top of each other in the corner. I am sure they will eventually "get it"! We have three that were up there tonight. Smart little chicks! We have put them on the roosts at night but they jump back down....they chirp "no thank you! we want to cuddle with our friends on the floor"! They are only 11 weeks old.

Cute chickens. I am jealous of you poop board!

The poop board was totally my guys idea! It is such a life saver!!!! Makes it so much easier to clean up their poop! AND....and soon as they stop sleeping on the floor we will probably get rid of the deep litter method and switch that over to Sweet PDZ too. They are only in their coop to eat, lay eggs, drink water (which we also set up outside) and sleep. :) I highly recommend anyone that can to install one under their roosts. Those little guys poop A LOT!

I finished the sand box! I scrounged around my yard and scrap pile to find the supplies I needed. I also stole a few pieces from my guy that was busy building our angled nest boxes! I usually try and level but I figured that since this would be outside and pooped on it really wasn't necessary! lol I had to use three pieces of wood for the roof (did not have one piece large enough) so the sides of the sand box would not get drenched when it poured. I also put the roof at an angle so the water would just slide off the roof! Thought about painting it or staining it but again...figured it wasn't necessary! I filled it with organic compost dirt. One of the chicks immediately found a small frog and decided that the frog would be a sufficient dessert! Silly Mr. Peepers! He made sure no one saw him with his frog and hid in a corner so he could enjoy it all to himself!
