Ok- now they are cooing. One of them, I think is the female, even tho they have the same size comb, will be for sale after she gets out of quarantine and deemed healthy. She is pet quality- she had hard feathers in her tail. -Pam Now, I'll try to be quite ;0

I am selling my entire flock of wade jeane marans - I am in Gainesville, GA

1 breeding quad of wade jeane marans - hatched in Janurary by Tommy Culpepper before he sold the flock to Mr. Terry Mitchell. It is getting harder and harder to find pure Wade Jeane marans literally right from the source. Mr. Charles Logan is no longer taking orders for those (from my first hand source). $120 FIRM for all. I will not seperate. hens are solid black with no copper hackles, but the rooster has proven to improve that most of the time on his pullets. the rooster does not have copper spotting on the chest, all have feathered shanks with correct leg color and produce this.

Their offspring.

2 young roosters - $8 each. Different ages.
3 young pullets - $15 each. Different ages. 2 have copper hackles, 1 is solid black so far but very beautiful pullet. Average age is 6 weeks. They will start laying early next year.

Those are the chicks after culling. No obvious defects. Those were my last ones.

Prices are firm. I am in Murrayville north of Gainesville, close to end of 400.

Please PM for phone number if you need to call. serious inquiries only please.

Thank you.

I typed all of this, but it only posted the pics. Ugh. The story...I went to see these chickens after they sent me 3 blurred pic of them. They told me that they had all of these breeds, etc. They didn't meet me at the farm, they met me at a store, not at the farm. (mistake "2) I had gotten lost, so it was dark when I got there (2.5 hrs from me). Anyway, all I noticed was that they REEKED, and were stained will good ole' GA mud. She said that she didn't have a chance to give them a bath. Anyway, further inspection is awful. Their toes are so grown out that they have something that looks like a piece of poop on some of the toes. I hope they look better after about 10 whitening baths. I'm so glad that they are here, and out of there. I imagine that they probably full of mites and lice- I looked, but I'm not so great at that. . Pam

Correction: I don't consider meeting me away from the farm a mistake. Could have been doing it to not contaminate the chickens. -Pam

I always meet somewhere to buy/sell/trade. Usually I bring them to work(Animal Hosp) and they come there. Its easier, I make sure people know to bring a cage or something. I had a guy buy 2 EE hens and he didnt bring a cage  lucky we had a box big enough to put them in. I make sure they look at the birds, I dont like to sell something if it doesnt look good, unless the buyer knows ahead of time.

I want all us Georgian's to get together sometime.

I will keep you posted Cindy on what happens. The splash girls do look a mess right now from being broody and also were some of the boys favorites. You wouldn't believe if I told you they placed in the last show they went to. LOL Actually, even if I do stay, I need to downsize. They are just hatching way too many chicks and they aren't stopping! These girls have been producing some nice babies though.

I hope they do well for you! Those balls on the end of their toes is probably mud that dried. Mine dig in the mud too and have a blast when I change their water! I end up having to soak their feet in order to get the dried mudballs off of them. I actually think yours look pretty nice just stained. It does seem, the whiter the silkie, the more they love to roll around in the dirt and play in mud puddles. ;) To check for lice, in silkies, they tend to hang out around the neck & beard and also around the vent area. These are the most likely places you will see the eggs attached to the feather follicles. I had a problem until I figured out mine got them with every new bale of hay I put in the barn. Now it gets treated right away!

Thanks so much! Pam ps I feel better now that they don't stink.

I just got them last night. lol thanks! I wish I could get rid of that smell!!!! Ugh. They are sweehearts. Flap some, but settle down. I hope nothing is wrong with them that they don't stand much (rarely) and reek! Yuck
You do have them separated from your other chickens right? I wonder what's wrong with them that they won't stand much? Do you think they are malnourished and weak? I wonder what they smell from?
