YO GEORGIANS! :)

Oh I was thinking my lockdown  would start tomorrow afternoon. I didn't think you counted the day you set them. Is that not right?
:lau Oops.. Yes. You're right. I forget, when I set my eggs I write a big "S" on front with the NEXT day's date. So technically I set those on the 19th. Sorry..

These are so cute! What TSC did you get them from? I didn't know they had Gamefowl at TSC

Yup! In the assorted bantam bin. Look for stripes and non-feathered legs. I was hoping I didn't get one because I've heard bad things about their temperament, but she is just a sweetheart! First chick in the bunch to decide I was ok, and she falls asleep in my hand all the time now. :)

I have grown Gamefowl Roosters and hens and love them all! They are smart birds and do great as free rangers. I hope to add more to our flock soon. As a matter of fact I have set a few of my game hens eggs for hatching in the next few days. I just hope they hatch.

Ok. So I will set my eggs in the cartons tomorrow for hatching when I get back from the hospital. I've been taking our daughter to visit our granddaughter in the NICU. She still has a few more days before the doctors clear her to drive again after giving birth.

Oh! Another question. The instructions for the red plug in the Hovabator said to only remove it for high altitude hatch so I guess I leave that in not being at high altitude. I just thought someone said on a past post to remove all plugs during hatch.

I only leave the plug in for the first 10 days. You need to unplug it. Oxygen is critical. Some people never even use the plugs. I have a full bator this time, so am not using the red plug at all.

I just removed the plug. I hope I didn't kill my chicks by leaving it in all this time. I know it has holes all around the bottom edge of the styrofoam base so I thought that was for oxygen.
