YO GEORGIANS! :)

After turning down a kazillion people who called about the ducks, I finally sold the last 3 to a nice man from Helen who has a small farm with chickens and wanted to add ducks to his farm! Yea! So no more crazy phone calls about ducks!

LOL! Glad you were able to find a suitable home for them, flower. Ducklings are tough.

Let me preface this short story with a confession: whenever I used to hear someone say, "I used to have xyz hen that layed two eggs/day, blah blah", I would roll y eyes at their naïveté.. I would think, bless their heart, they just didn't check thoroughly for eggs, or something to that effect.

That being said, my youngest laying Brahma is in fact laying two eggs a day sometimes. I had a day last week where I drew question marks on my eggs where I usually have the date. It was after I went to Knoxville. I went to check for eggs and found three where there should be two at most. CLEARLY hubby didn't check thoroughly the day before, right? But I wondered....

Well today I got my answer. This coop was void of all eggs this morning.. I had already gotten the egg from my older hen and when I did the younger girl was in this box. This evening I found this! :clap So cool!

That;s cool. She is releasing eggs faster than the normal 24 - 26 hours apart.

Yeah! It's just so funny that it kept crossing my mind over the last few weeks.. Had a friend mention it on fb.. Read a post somewhere about it.. I scoffed. Scoffed!! :lau

Yeah, I posted last year that one of my 4 older girls had lay two eggs in one 24 hour period. There are only 4 hens and 2 nest boxes in their coop. I had gotten all 4 of the eggs out early afternoon fluffing up the nest materials as I collected the eggs like always. When I went back out to the coop the next afternoon I found 5 eggs. So someone had lay an extra egg. It only happened once.
