YO GEORGIANS! :)

These weren't mine, just google photo to show difference, but you will start seeing the difference (if you have any males) when the feathers with the little silver middles start coming out.  Maybe starting at 5 weeks or a little later?
That's good to know! Thankfully I have a home lined up for a rooster if I end up with one.

We now have 2 pairs trying to nest here. Not sure our Pilgrims are gonna let them though.

Went out to look at the babies yesterday and all but one of my AM were on one roost. They are just too cute lol.. Becoming much more friendly too. I'm so glad I got them!

how old? mine are 8 weeks and 7 weeks tomorrow. They'll get on the roost in the mornings before I go down to let them out, but are still sleeping piled up in the corner. Too funny!

Mine are also becoming more friendly. One will climb right up in my lap

I realize this is an ongoing running thread with a lot of people who now know each other and chat daily but I'm from Georgia, Claxton area, and wanted to say hi! I just got my first ever chicks a week ago. Learning as we go! I have a dog and horse as well.

welcome aboard from the other side of the state! Just jump on in the chat we don't mind. Oh, and I'm probably in the newest 3 or 4 myself, if not the newest, well except for you now

It's because I posted it. Now, speaking of funny. GAM has put a turkey egg under a broody silkie. Now imagine if you will a silkie hatching a turkey and then raising it like one of her own. It would be like the movie Elf.

that made me think of Hee Haw where sometimes they'd have the animated chicken sitting on all kinds of things, LOL

some of these folks are probably too young to remember hee haw though, but google is your friend!

Now I had a bannie hatch out LF and she just couldn't understand the size difference you could actually see her confusion when the chicks got larger than her, and someone here let chickens hatch out ducks and she said the chickens freaked when the ducks went into the water now we have silkies hatching out turkeys we need a cam corder on that hatch
