YO GEORGIANS! :)

Thank you! She is calling the deputy now. She just spoke to the owner and they said well the dog dug out from under their fence. Too bad. They were warned. She lost a pure white silkie to one of the dogs a few weeks ago. They are crossing a state highway to get to her chickens that are located about a 1/4 mile up her drive and behind their house. The woman didn't even apologize just made excuses.

Wow. That is infuriating. I'll bet, if it was her dog being attacked by someone else's dog, she'd be raising a holy stink about it and expecting accountability on the part of the dog's owner. Clearly she lacks common decency. It's sad to hear about your friend's birds being harmed!

Today was really busy! Mucked out (yes, mucked out) the chicken coop! Took hours to dig out the muck from all the rain that came down the hill. This only happens maybe twice a year, thank goodness! Had to put down some horse odor stuff, DE and new shavings. Like a new place! Chickens are very happy! Then, went across the lake to weed the daylilies and put down new mulch. Whenever the ducks see me with a shovel, they are always close because they know that where there is a shovel, there is turned up dirt and when there is turned up dirt, there are WORMS!

View of house from where I was working. Such a beautiful day!

Hot tub on the deck.....nice way to end the day!

That is quite a beautiful view! One day, I hope to make this place we live in look that beautiful! It was a foreclosed property and sat in neglect for a couple of years. It is so overgrown, and I seem to have a black thumb.

But, I keep trying. The hot tub sounds pretty awesome, too! I bet a soak in the tub is awesome after a day of working in the yard!

Papa Chaz- yes, I believe I have four pullets and a cockerel. Mine cockerel is for darn sure, because of his largest-of-all and RED comb, and thicker legs. Mine are actually older than yours. I was thinking same age.

As for feathering, even with my obvious cockerel, there is ZERO.. And I mean zero difference between him and the girls as far as tail/feathering yet.

I think we should probably have a no alcohol rule. Some live close by so a few may start showing up as early as 8. Sounds like a good starting time to me. And then if the pot luck thing works out we should shoot for a 12 noon lunch.

I was totally kidding about the Margaritas! I told katsdar that I really only have those at my swimming pool.

My babies I got from bantyman had their first day outside today in the grow out pen for a day of fresh air, they are knocked out back inside in the brooder as they are not all feathered out. so quiet not a peep

sounds like we need a pool party at katiedarling's JK JK

it's plenty big enough... I always joke to my friends that we need them to bring their kiddos because it's to big for just two people. No kids here to swim in it. We keep ending up with a high chlorine count that I fight with every year. LOL I swear I need a bunch of huge guys to come swim in it after a full day of doing heavy labor in the yard to dirty it up!
