YO GEORGIANS! :)

Thanks Tabasco. I know this seems like an easy one, but with no reference point to go by I'd rather ask those who have experience instead of mucking it up and having to redo it.

I have a small white bird that we have never been able to find the breed, some say Leghorn my research I say an amber star. Well I think she layed her first egg today, and it is the smallest egg! I have bantam eggs bigger than that.

Could be WLH Bantam or white Japanese bantam.

I think a japanese bantam might be right. Is it normal for their first egg to be so small? Will she lay bigger eggs as she gets older? Do you eat bantam eggs? Can you tell I don't know much about bannies but I have 5 in my incubator right now

Some hens are like that they will get bigger.

My hubs said if he looked in there and saw that he would have thought it was turd. I was like "what is that supposed to be?" With our smallest bird and our largest bird standing right by it looking at me.

I was thinking it might be a 'fart' egg (aka no yolk) too.

She reminds me of my two white modern game hens. They have TINY bodies, but now lay pretty big eggs (ouch). Maybe she'll lay bigger eggs after a while? I love our Banty and Serama eggs...it's nice to have a variety of sizes available

oh heehee fart egg=no yolk.. . .never heard that one. Now I feel silly! I read that amber stars lay big white eggs, but she is still pretty small. I guess we will see, do you think she will lay one tomorrow?? Oh and we don't know how old she is, at what age do they normally start laying? I have new chickies that I am raising for a friend and she only wants them once they are at laying age.

If she is a pullet and that was her first egg she won"t lay regularly at first maybe everyother day. And chickens usually start laying around 6-8 months old some times older. My game hen didn't start laying until she was 14 months old. She is a pretty young lady. :)
