YO GEORGIANS! :)

What the heck!  Just put the eggs in lock down last night and already have a pip in one of the BA eggs this morning!  I suppose it is because it was a small pullet egg.  Small eggs have a tendency to hatch early.  (Like bantams hatch at day 19) and today is day 19!

So, having to go get my Drivers License renewed.  Can't do it over the phone because I am going to be 64 in Dec, they require an eye test!  Ugh.  So sad, getting old!  But, then again, it's how you age, right?!  My DD challenged me on the fitbit......I am in 1st place in steps with about 7 people in the challenge!   1st day I had over 20,000 steps (8.47 miles), yesterday I had 14,516 steps (6.22 miles) and today????  The challenge is for 5 days.  (Total steps)  I hate not to win!  LOL!

Good luck on the hatch!!!!! :fl

Well, one of the Blue Ameraucanas from Papa hatched while we were gone! Really early. I don't expect the others until Friday.

It looks blackish with a yellow underbelly. Is that right? I guess it will dry bluish, or could it be a black? I know with the Lav AMs, all are hatched out lavender.

Hello Georgia,

I am about two miles from the Georgia line (Florida side). Am I still eligible for the Georgia thread?

Yay! Good luck! I hope they do well!

And, forgive me for asking, what is a saddle air sack? That sounds strange..

Not chicken related, but fun. 10 years ago my DD went on a study abroad to Australia. She was asked where she would like to intern and she said, "The Australia Zoo" where Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter worked. (She was in Zoology) The college called the zoo and was told they don't take interns, they have never taken an intern and they don't plan on taking an intern. The school replied, 'You need to see this girls resume" and they sent it over. The zoo accepted my DD as the only intern they've ever had! She got to work for Steve Irwin for the 6 months she was there! It was a most memorable time for my DD! Anyway, after she returned to Auburn, the Study Abroad office decided to use her in one of their Study Abroad Ad campaigns. So they created this ad and put it in all the movie theaters in Auburn. They did not tell her, but sent us a copy ahead of time so we could see it. Then, her friend took her to the movies to surprise her with the AD. Now, you have to understand that my DH was not real pleased with the giant Study Abroad slogan words placed right next to his daughter....! But, we just re found the photo and all had lots of fun laughs about the fond memories!

That IS funny! But, it is pretty rad that she broke the mold for them and they brought her in. That's pretty impressive.

breeding a blue to a blue, gives a 50% chance of blue, 25% chance of a splash or a black. I'd bet that will be a black one, I have a couple that are black with yellow bellies, that I thought were the aussie x am crosses so I may have a couple of blacks too then, I guess we'll know as they grow.

when I do my first hatch with the bator I just got from Kat, I'm going to do all AM eggs so I know what to expect when they hatch out what color

We got our first egg today! She laid it while I was down there! Is that unusual?
Barred Rock 21 weeks. We have eight hens about that age, different breeds. The white leghorn went with her into the nesting boxs. She is probably next!
