I can understand that. My girls are behind a 6' high fence and I haven't had any losses to predators in a year (probably due to my dog making her presence known) so as long as they stay in my yard, they are safe.

I know, I know... I just want to make sure that I am not doing anything to hinder, slow, or hurt them. Rookie worries. I am trying to just let it ride and do what it does.I wouldn't keep them out of the coop, don't worry they will lay and they are just getting used to their surroundings.
Yep we have all been thereI know, I know... I just want to make sure that I am not doing anything to hinder, slow, or hurt them. Rookie worries. I am trying to just let it ride and do what it does.
Cream LegbarsVery Pretty! Somewhere in the thread, I must have missed the name of their breed.
Very pretty girls, and I hope they start to lay again for you, could it be that they aren't as old as you thought? and you will get pretty blue eggsCream Legbars

I'd say put them on layer feed. over 16 weeks should be getting layer feed. I have one of my blue ameraucanas still not laying, although it could be that all four of them ARE laying, just not every day. I won't know for sure until I get 4 blue eggs in a day, today is the first day I've gotten 3. Add to that the one that went broody, sat on and hatched out the chicks that are now 3 weeks old. I did take the chicks away from her, and not sure how long until she lays again, so maybe the other 3 are now and she's just not started back yetI was wondering that about age. I trust the guy, but they do look young to me. He had not gotten eggs from them yet when I got them. With being said, should they be on layer feed or grower feed. Some other friends of mine with chickens guess that these were about 6-7 months. Any ideas?
