well I'm keeping them separate for a few more days. Probably until about wed and then I'll let them mix. Not sure how long it will take to get things in order with them and my rooster, but I'll let you know. That one leghorn you hatched for me is still the biggest chick in the bunch.
Also, I'm going to give one or two of these to my daughters flock, they have the australorp rooster, and I told them today I would want some of those leghorn eggs to hatch to see what we get from the brown gene rooster and the white gene hens......hopefully some pink? that would be SOOOO coool
There is a lady who sells Leghorn/Ameraucana mixes and she calls them "Super Blue Egg Layers" They will inherit the blue egg gene from the Ameraucana, but lay lots of eggs like the Leghorn!
