YO GEORGIANS! :)

It is official. Old age has replaced youthful fearlessness. I think I have just cleaned gutters for the last time.

Oh been there done that. How about this gem. One Christmas I let my now X then hubby tie a rope around my waste toss it over a 2 story roof line and stand on the other side of the house holding the end in case I fell while hanging Christmas lights.

THAT is an awesome story. Sounds like crap I would have done just a couple of years ago. This new issue has been slowly getting worse over the last couple of years. At least chickens don't make me get on roofs.

That is is the same selection I was thinking about. I would like a table guest for the Holidays, but would like to continue the tiny flock to avoid having to purchase new for the next year. Did you get them as eggs or were they already cooked and out of the incubator?
They were a few days old when i got them. I waited on my 4 chicks to hatch then i went and picked up 3 poults to grow up with them.

So this guy has been advertising on the Georgia chicken groups on Facebook.
Prices were ridiculously low, so I arranged to go to his place to look.

Unlike what I was expecting, his pens were nice and clean, birds were healthy, shiny and perky.
I saw eggs in nests, and the Marans eggs were nice and a dark chocolate brown.

I brought home 5 Welsummers, 5 French Blue Marans (and black and splash), and 2 Lavender Ameraucanas.
He hatches weekly, and is in Summerville.

He also has Leghorns (Exchequer and Isabel), RIR, Dominiques, Speckled Sussex and umm, I thought there was one other LOL.

Welsummers were $2, Marans $3, Lavender Ams were $5.
The Leghorns and Sussex aren't laying at the moment.

I'm on his list for the Sussex and Leghorns :)
