YO GEORGIANS! :)

Nope, it was a super rare breed that's I've wanted since I was a kid. The breeder does extensive health testing and practices ethical breeding, which isn't as cheap as people assume. If I wanted just a dog I'd have gone to the pound or a rescue, But I wanted this specific breed because I like their personalities.

I'm not offended, but just so you know, email updates are a thing so I already saw the previous post. To me they're worth every penny, it's OK if that's not your cuppa tea. :)
I absolutely agree. Both my dogs right now I paid good money for from breeders. Granted, my Dobe has CDA because of her color (lesson learned there), but point being we were looking for very specific things in these two.

I'm a huge advocate for adoption (which I assume was the suggestion above).. My best dog I've ever had as an adult was adopted (which is one reason my Russell is a bought dog.. I couldn't set foot in the pound without crying over my late boy).

But I'm not against purchasing from a responsible breeder, either.

Oh, absolutely! Adoption should be the first choice if it's available! I actually looked for a long time to find IH in rescues, but they only had "IH mixes" which were really usually pitties with erect ears. Nothing against pits, I actually love them too, but that wasn't what I was looking for. Luckily my first boy's breeder is right here in Georgia and is the epitome of responsible breeding! My second boy she imported for her program, but didn't want to have a puppy in the house, so we're co-owners. It means she gets to breed him later if she wants, and we get a beloved pet. Everyone wins!

Oh wow, that's awesome!! We wanted to adopt a Doberman badly, but rescues won't place with a family with a child under 12, which our son was at the time. And a Doberman from a pound wasn't something I wanted to gamble on with a child, either. We did find a breeder who placed a 7-month-old male with us (for a price, lol) because his bite was off by a mm.. But he didn't work out, partly because he was very sensitive (as dobes often are) and partly because we were inexperienced with the breed.

I have no doubt that our next can be a rescue/older doberman, though. I think "get" them now. LOL

Oh, Eric.. How I am so tempted by bantam Cochins.. If you were selling more than just boys I can't guarantee I wouldn't fall for it. :/ But I CANNOT.

I am replying on my phone and not sure how this will look. Carla you know I could put my one spoilt girl Cochin with the red barred boy. She is very vocal when she wants something. Lol she is tiny. She reminds me of those little Pekins.

I have my Shetland Sheepdog "Dusty" he was being groomed for show and has good linage his parents are champions but he grew an inch too tall, that is how I ended up with him, but I had him fixed, he is just my baby but I got a "Deal" on him because they forgot to tell him to stop growing,, he is 17 inches tall. I could have kept him intact but I could not have registered his pups.

You made the right choice to fix him. My older boy would be fixed already if they would let him show neutered. He's never getting bred but he loves showing and For whatever reason they have to be intact to show. It's really silly, I think. I got lucky in that Ibizans don't have a hard hight limit, there's a suggested size, but I've seen dogs above or below the limits take BOB if they're a good looking dog. It think it's cause they seem to randomly throw both MUCH bigger and MUCH smaller pups sometimes.

@ShadesofSable yeah I really didn't want puppies to worry about, so Dusty is just Dusty.

I have some wonderful baby sounds in my sewing room!!! I just love it and TSC Rome has chicks!! red sex links straight run, BO's straight run and black sex links straight run!!! going to go get my BO's tomorrow!!

Also I got to thinking about what you said carcar about the shock collar anyway I was talking to another person and they mentioned the shock collar, so guess what I'm going to get tomorrow!!! So I will keep my baby, and train her so I don't have to worry about her getting shot. cause she is a really nice dog, good mannered and she just needs to be socialized more which I will work on too so she won't be so timid. If people come to the house she is fine, just when she is in new places, AWWWWW Cleopatra gets to stay!!!!

Oh katsdar I'm so glad!! She is SUCH a doll. I wasn't sure your personal feelings on shock collars so I didn't bring it up, but THIS is what we really want for Riley (and Cody).. It's just that they're expensive but sometimes you can find on CL.. I think one like this is actually better because there is a definite boundary, and it will work whether you're watching or not. We picked up a dog kennel from a couple a while back and both their dogs had on these collars and knew very well where they could and couldn't go. Their JRT wouldn't even show any excitement in meeting me until I was within his limits, lol.

I was so impressed with it (had never seen one) that the lady took me inside to show me the central part of it :gig
