YO GEORGIANS! :)

Did I hear someone say a few days ago that one of the TSC's had ISA brown chicks. I got in an order of 25 from townline today and there were 5 dead...and two more "at least" probably won't make it. I sure wanted the 25. They were a day late and were not in good shape at all...might lose more than just the two which don't look so good right now.. I have called the TSC in both calhoun and rome and they don't have any. Would like to find them close to same age.
Not familiar with townline, but have you contacted them? I do believe most hatcheries will make up for the ones that don't make it.

So I posted during my hatch, and some of the discussion was my 'hatching bator' not having a fan wasn't a good thing. Yesterday, I picked up a computer case fan from the local shop in town for a couple bucks. I had an old power supply for something that has an output of 12 volts (yes that's what a computer fan runs on) and got it installed last night.

I got it all put together and let it run over night and into this afternoon. I had 3 thermometers plus the built in one, spread to each corner. not exactly sure why, but the back right corner was 101* and all the rest of them were 100*, although the built in digital did jump around from 99.6 and back to 100* I'm satisfied that my hatch next week should do much better!

I took the heating element apart so I could predrill the holes for it to mount to. That bugger was a trip to put back together. I have a new respect for them kids who work in the factories oer there now, that's for sure. Soldered all connections, covered with heat shrink and we're good to go. Covered the bottom with window screen and 1/8" HW cloth I had left from something, to keep the lil beaks and heads safe.

Yes...I have talked to them. No problem with them giving me credit but that doesn't give me the chicks...I just wanted to replace the lost ones at about the same age. I will be less 6 more later today as I told my 4 year old great grand daughter she could have 6 and she has been looking for her chicks ever since. They were due yesterday morning but didn't make it...that's why the loss...and an extra day on the road in the cold and of course the lack of food and water. I knew when they didn't arrive yeterday morning we would lose at least some of them.

Busy week running around buying chicks here. I think I'm done for a while...

Added the 6 Lavender Ameraucanas and 4 Silkies on Sunday.
