Livestock and Poultry swap!!! May 14th 10 am-3 pm TSC on hwy 140 & E. Cherokee in Woodstock

Same rules apply as the last one.
Just in case, here they are again..

You must bring your own chairs/canopies/tables to set up on. You may also use the back of your vehicle. We will have an area of the parking lot marked off. I will be arriving early to set up.

Remember to bring change and be willing to take checks if need be. Flat rates are recommended. Please do not bring any feed to the swap, as TSC sells all supplies.

NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL WILL BE PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY!!

We are allowed to bring animals other than chickens, it is your responsibility to contain and clean up after your animals.

Any questions or comments please leave here or contact myself or Blake Childs. We will do our best to respond in an timely manor.

You were not kidding. I"ll weigh them all today so I can keep track of their gains like all the others. I will be doing her first, because I know it's gonna be a minute before I can get a hold of her. Speedy Gonzalez. She's quite hyper and will spontaneously run the Chicken 500 around their enclosure. All the birds are settling in & I will post some pictures as soon as I can. The Blue AM is very sweet, she's still panting a bit, but I think it's just the stress of the move and I have a feeling she misses her flock mates. She's getting extra cuddles and treats to make her feel better.

@katsdar a high 5 to you on hand picking the replacement Dorothy. She's really adorable.

@silverhill I'm definitely still daydreaming about that CCL, so I am willing to drive if you still have access to one. Maybe we can coordinate a day and time this week? And thank you again, for that sweet baby BO. She's perfect!

@ShadesofSable I love that you have show dogs. I think that makes your cool factor points go way up.

Hmm. How high is too high? I gave them grower which is 18% I believe. Had no luck finding non medicated starter locally other than tiny bags or organic at high prices.
 
It is hard to find non medicated sometimes. I know what you mean with the little 5 pound bags. Too little for too much. 18% is too much for goslings. As they grow you will see their wings drooping and they are always having to reposition them. Maybe GAM will pipe in here soon and let you know what she buys and where she gets it.

The Pilgrim Goose folks that I follow on Facebook say that 18 is ok as long as they are getting a lot of access to grass. 18 Is the absolute highest, though.

Those two guys you have from us have been 100% free range so they have been eating all kids of stuff. They eat floating fish food ... corn ... "Knock-Out" scratch ... then whatever else they find on the ground around the farm..

I have a hook-up for "day old" produce so they occasionally get a variety of fruits and vegetables, too.

Wow, I was thinking 7 weeks. We ended up with a total of 26 from that group. Thank you again so much for those eggs. Everyone at the school is absolutely in love with them.

6 weeks is the norm for spring hatches. I think I've got an early bloomer in the bunch. I'm glad I separated them all last Friday. Males and females separated and then pulled out the heaviest 7 females for future breeders.

Sounds good. They are still in the stall since they don't like me yet. LOL

The 8 littles are cracking me up. I put the "playpen" in front of their house and they and their silkie & showgirl "moms" are having a blast grazing.
I will lock them up for afternoon bus route then let them out til dark.
