I wouldn't put it past them, they have been known to eat some pretty nasty stuff, I know I give my dogs an egg every now and then, they walk around with it so carefully in their mouths then drop it on the ground to crack it a little then work a hole in the shell to like out the yummy stuff.Well, the little d'uccle mix bantam is sitting on the eggs for sure, and putting them in the box has definitely kept them all together better!
...but two of the MFD eggs have mysteriously disappeared.Yolk and shells on the other eggs, but no sign of damage to them otherwise. I hope it's not one of the other hens, but due to the fact that I found some shells OUTSIDE the run I think it may be a rat. I know they get into the run to eat the food at night, but will they really steal eggs? Any thoughts from anyone else?![]()
