YO GEORGIANS! :)

Today I got a truly pink egg! Hope these photos show how pink it is! Probably one of the brown egg layers had a pigment problem today!

I have 2 that lay a pink egg. One is a hen that is offspring of the bantam RIR rooster and BCM hen. Her mother laid a pink egg also. Then I have a bigger pink egg in my big hens. I am not sure which lays it out of the 6 different hens that are 6 different breeds. I know one is my Isbar and she lays a green speckled egg so its narrowed down between the other 5. I have thought it is the GLW hen that lays the pink.

Well, the little d'uccle mix bantam is sitting on the eggs for sure, and putting them in the box has definitely kept them all together better!

...but two of the MFD eggs have mysteriously disappeared. :( Yolk and shells on the other eggs, but no sign of damage to them otherwise. I hope it's not one of the other hens, but due to the fact that I found some shells OUTSIDE the run I think it may be a rat. I know they get into the run to eat the food at night, but will they really steal eggs? Any thoughts from anyone else?

Well thank you. They do make a nice snack. And if you're interested in pickling, I can hook you up.

yes, I would that would be so neat. maybe in the future I can get a few quail to raise.
I think it makes me a little bit of a dork, but I'll definitely take those cool points! Lol

you should start posting the where and maybe we can come and support you.

I wouldn't put it past them, they have been known to eat some pretty nasty stuff, I know I give my dogs an egg every now and then, they walk around with it so carefully in their mouths then drop it on the ground to crack it a little then work a hole in the shell to like out the yummy stuff.

This show is in Perry GA, I don't know what time the Ibizan hounds will be going on yet but it will be in the morning most likely. It'll be little Rowan's first show! More friendly faces are always welcome, but that's a heck of a drive just to watch a few minutes of showing! :)

Rowan learned that eggs are tasty, too. Now I can't turn my back on them or he steals one! Little Jerk puppy...

I would take her and move her inside, if you have her in a box then just put her and the box in a dog crate (I would move her at night) if you really think it's rats
