YO GEORGIANS! :)

spent the day at the swap also, apparently although say its Friday, Saturday and Sunday, they said really not much happens on Friday. As carcar80 said was a variety of chickens, I got caught in the chicken math again, and ended up with two silkies, one frizzle hen and a smooth roo. Alot of fun, Saturday though I think would be the best day to go.

We got there around 1030 this morning. Not much left. By 2 people were making deals or giving stuff away just to keep from having to take them home.

We got:

GAMjr got a nice little pair of oe bantams for 10 bucks. And the lady threw in 1 fertile egg another pair had in their cage. 1 free silkie rooster. 23 red sex link male chicks for 15 dollars. 1 7 month old pair of plymouth rocks for 35. And 1 free cockerel of some barnyard mix.

Whew, just got home from the Newnan Show. It was fun to see GAM and Robo and GAM, Jr, although I think I left them behind as I went running to the vendors to make sure I got to buy something! LOL! Lady Who came with us and we had fun talking chickens until I thought my DH was going to shoot himself! LOL! So, I ended up with 1 dozen Marans hatching eggs, 1 dozen Sex link hatching eggs ($5!), 6 Swedish Flower hatching eggs, 6 Chocolate Orpington hatching eggs, 6 Orp/Brahma mix eggs from Lady Who, 1 bantam cochin hatching egg (given to us by a participant who's chicken laid an egg in the cage, and 1 Dutch hookbill duck hatching egg (also given to us) and 3 baby Swedish Flower chicks! So, tomorrow I will be setting up the incubators! Then, it's happy hatching!

The show is all three days but the swap meet was fri/sat only

Anyone willing to let a kindergarten class and 3rd grade class try to hatch some eggs? We are looking to expand our farm flock with some new genetics...We currently have 3 golden comets in our neighborhood backyard

Lexington, Georgia here. Home built coop doodled on a piece of scratch paper. Coop was constructed with mainly new materials, with some scrap pieces left over from other projects. My run is about 50/50 new and re-purposed materials. Original coop was made from pallet wood, an enclosure we had built to allow cats outside through a basement window, and old facia boards left over from when we roofed the house.

Mixed flock with Buff Orp, Barred Rock, EEs, a silkie maran mix, and several other mutts.

Hello to all you other Georgians in the BYC community.
