Hmmm ... might have to trade some of those mushroom logs for a few of the turkeys.

Hope you do. Maybe someone is close to you and you can car pool.ok nice, i dont travel alot because of physical issues, but im going to try and make it!
Also this past Wednesday I got 32 chicks from Murray McMurray hatchery. I got one rooster and six speckled Sussex hens. I got one rooster and six light Brahma hens. And my daughter got a phoenix rooster, seven Buttercup hens, one rooster and six Golden penciled hamburgs hens, and three game hens.
Oh, car pool, I drive an hour it is so worth it, such a nice relaxing day.Paulding County is 61 miles away from me so I don't think I can make it even though I would love to.
Katsdar, how many chickens and what kinds do you have?
Don't forget Wilbur, oh I guess he falls into the hoovesLordy, I've lost track of the total head count. We have chickens, ducks, geese, turkey, quail ... and a ton of hooves. Been at the birds for about 5 years, I guess. (I really can't remember.)
Yeah, and an ice pack, good grief, did you take that poor girl a cushion to sit on after that?
I don't know, the one on the right is so much heavier and bigger so it might be a roo but they are not showing any signs yet. What do you think? Roos or hens.

Yep, way over my budget....I owned a tree service for many years in Louisiana, and I used to have a Lucas Mill portable sawmill. It was an outstanding portable mill. I sold it for $10k a little over 10 years ago.
I don't think I told you ... he made his first school appearance the other day. He was a huge hit and he seemed to do really well with it all. (Of course, I have rules to protect the animals so that helped)
Well, when I candled the eggs that I got from the Newnan Poultry show, I found that 3 of the 6 Swedish Flower eggs were not fertile and 1 of the 6 Chocolate Orpington eggs was not fertile. I was really disappointed. Called the lady (so glad I always get the names and phone numbers of people I buy and sell from!) and she agreed that I could pick up 4 SF and 2 CO eggs if I want. Well, that's all nice and good except that she lives in Griffin 110 miles from me here in the North GA mountains. Then, she agreed to send them to me for a $15 postage fee. That's acceptable. So, we all know what that means! ....................................Another hatching! I told her not to send them until next week so I could complete this hatch (about 75 eggs) and get the incubators cleaned out, etc. I guess I will start saving more of my eggs for hatching.....especially the frizzled ones. People seem to like them a lot.
You were smart to get the seller's contact info. It's nice that she's willing to work with you, and it sounds like she's being fair. I recently bought a dozen BBS orp eggs from a seller, and he included five extras which I thought was very generous; however, when I candled the eggs, five were infertile, so it was a wash.
I went to the Newnan show Friday afternoon, and there were some nice birds there and some great deals. I was surprised to see as many chocolate orps as I did. The breeder who I had bought my chocolates from was there selling three of his chocolate hens. Most chocolate orps tend to be two tone with the fluff feathers a somewhat lighter shade, but his chocolates were solid throughout. I would have snapped them up if they were of a different bloodline. I was surprised he was selling them, but he said he just had too many birds. I can relate to that...lol
BTW, your frizzed turken hen is awesome!
