YO GEORGIANS! :)

I've got  my chocolate bantam orps!!! yay!!:weee

Now the issue is, one of my grown hens has gone BROODY which is not a bad thing... but her eggs are not fertile! She has been sitting for about a week. I've taken her off the nest and sat her out in the run and just this morning i took out all the eggs she was sitting on. I've actually ordered some fertile eggs for her to hatch out and should arrive next week. But until then any advice on keeping her out and about or keeping her healthy is appreciated. I do work full time which is the downside but i want my girls happy and healthy!!
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't try to stop her from being broody, I give mine some golf balls to sit on until the eggs hatch in the incubator because I tend to have better luck with it that way. My main broody hen SUCKS at hatching eggs, but is usually great with raising chicks.

Good luck with your broody gal and don't forget to post pictures of her cute babies when they arrive!

Well it must be spring here I have my lone Dutch game hen sitting on a nest with a dozen eggs and found a brooding hen in one of the nest boxes I petted her called her a good girl and closed the door looked back in 2 hours later she's still there so that tells me she went brood and is one of the injured birds I brought in and healed up so I'll make sure she has food and water close I'm afraid she will not be 100% for the 3 weeks without help

Looking to add a buff or white silkie hen already have @ 8 mth old roo and a 3 mth old white hen. Would like to add another silkie hen around 3 to 7 months. Anyone have info or leads would be appreciated. Thanks I am in Spalding county / Henry County.

Yay! finally someone from the northern part of the state! I was just wondering why so many newbies had to be 'so south of here"! LOL

I've got to put my two incubators full of eggs in lockdown tomorrow! YAY! Sat and Sunday will be like a slumberless party for me since I try to keep track of what hatches from what egg! I am hoping Lady Who will be coming over to help! Hoping for lots and lots of cuteness!
