YO GEORGIANS! :)

I wouldn't try to stop her from being broody, I give mine some golf balls to sit on until the eggs hatch in the incubator because I tend to have better luck with it that way. My main broody hen SUCKS at hatching eggs, but is usually great with raising chicks.

Good luck with your broody gal and don't forget to post pictures of her cute babies when they arrive!
I am hoping she does a great job! My eggs should arrive next Monday or Tuesday and once they do, its under Mrs Fluffy they go!
This will be her first time hatching/raising if all goes as planned but chickens have minds of their own

.
As of right now she is sitting on a single egg just to help keep her in the "brood mood" as i like to call it.

I had my bator loaded, I mean loaded with eggs cause I knew many wouldn't be fertile, banty eggs mostly and so I have 19 eggs that are developing nicely. I stop turning the 15th so will candle again to see what is still in the making.

It would scare the crap out of me if I had a full incubator mine is a 96 egg size one I'd have to move out the big ones lol

I packed my two incubators full of eggs, even doubled stacked. I started with 95 eggs. Down to 72ish after removing non fertile and death ring ones. So even if I only hatch 85%, that will be over 60 chicks! Already have several people waiting on these chicks, so hopefully can sell them all....except for the few I want to keep! I want to keep a few of the Swedish Flowers, Chocolate Orpingtons, Marans and one or two of the sex links and maybe a few naked neck and frizzles. Ugh, that's a lot of chicks I want to keep and already have 51 out back! Hummm, my Chickenitis is getting worse! Don't tell DH!!! He thought he had me getting better when I sold a bunch of laying hens! Isn't there a song that goes something like....' If this is love (Chickenitis), I don't want to be cured' ? hahhahahahah!

Oh, and worse......we got an egg from a man at the Newnan Show that was a Dutch Hookbill Duck egg. I didn't want it to be alone, so I put in 3 Runner Duck eggs in there with it, Of course, the Hookbill egg was not fertile, but my runner ducks were! So, now I will be hatching the runner ducks......next week. (I will put them in my mini bator today for the rest of their time.) DH will shoot me! Ducks are so messy, but their eggs are soooooo yummy! He doesn't know I have runner duck eggs in there yet!

And, remember, the lady from the show is sending me replacement eggs for the ones that were not fertile! hahahha! Bator fill up again soon! Ummm, then maybe my Chickenitis will be cured. NOT!

If you don't get better soon you might need to go to a CAR (Chicken Addiction Rehabilitation). I hear they have a 28 day
program where they start you out on large incubators and by the 28th day you should be down to one that only holds 3 eggs!
I'm not sure if it is covered by most insurances though???

Only 3 eggs? That's like giving a recovering alcoholic only a sip of beer. Cold turkey is the only cure. lol

Loaded incubators? Been here, done that. I've had to double stack eggs in the cabinet before.

"1368 Quail Eggs, 354 pheasant eggs, 270 chicken eggs, 198 turkey or duck eggs, and 36-45 larger eggs such as goose, peafowl, and emu. Actual capacity may depend on egg size." ... Ha! Don't try to limit me, GQF!
