It was so nice to meet those of you who made it to the picnic! Thanks to @Tabasco Jack for turning on a dime and opening your home to us. It is a beautiful property.

Also thank you to @brucifer for the sweet little Marans. She is now named Minnie, and living in the little grow out pen with her new buddies. I hope she will be happy. Coming home on a rainy night wasn't ideal, but I guess for integration purposes, she was among the many young'uns who were a little discombobulated by the tappity tap of rain drops on the tarp. This morning they have been eating dried mealworms and the scraps of tomato plants & herbs that I have pinched off. It isn't what I'd call "gracious living" yet, but until the Mr. completes the coop, it will do!

Thanks to all who helped organize & execute this event! The subject of shirts may be the elephant in the room, but please nobody be concerned about it. I have not had time to go back through to see what was not claimed, but I believe it's a few XL's, a couple of mediums and a 2XL. I don't really have any use for them, but will keep them at hand if anyone wants one.

Hey Liv, it was nice meeting you and your boys, and I'm sure Minnie will love her new home and flockmates. Your youngest son seemed to really take to her, so that was great to see. I found with Marans that they are on the skittish side when very young; however, if they are handled a lot, they become the sweetest birds and very loyal. All of our mature FBCM come right up to us and let us hold them.

From your photo, I had no idea that you had Spitzhabens. It looks like you have at least one silver-spangled and one gold-spangled. We have a few of those as well. They grow up to be beautiful birds. We have one silver-spangled boy that runs in tight circles to the right every time we feed him or give him treats. His name is Spinner.

As for your extra t-shirts, if no one claims the 2xl and the two mediums, I'll get those from you. Lisa goes to the Macon area usually at least once a month, so when she knows she's going to be in the area, she can arrange to meet with you to pick up and pay you for the shirts. We won't flake out on you. I promise. Again, it was super nice of you to design and print such awesome t-shirts. I bet no other state BYC group has shirts as nice as these. Great job!

Marsh is the one who loves the "wittle bwack chickens"---and he loves Minnie Mouse, hence... :)

We did not know we had a spitzhauben until the alleged silver laced polish wasn't... do you remember me asking if I had a poor SLP or what? I think we actually have a completely different bird. The golden laced looking one hatched from a Crele Polish egg and I know it is what it is---Her top hat is still coming in, but the breeder said a certain percentage of her birds hatch expressing for gold or partridge.

Do not feel like you have to take any shirts! I do not plan on losing any sleep over them! But, if Lisa is in town, I'd love to hear from her! Thanks!!!

I have chicks hatched and one turkey so far!!!!! 2 pips on two more turkey's can't wait to load up the bator again and my bantam hen did it again, showed up with 3 babies this morning and now I can't find her, I have no idea where she is going. She hatches, grows em up and does it again and stays away from me so I can't get her eggs. :th

I told y'all months ago may is way too busy a month for us. It's ok that we couldn't come, I did miss it, and maybe next year it will go back to an April date when things aren't so slammed for us

Same here. Everything always seems to come to a head during May for me and I'm always completely swamped with things going on in May.
