YO GEORGIANS! :)

But I don't want to! I guess I could clean the house. I do need to bake a blueberry cheesecake so I can use these blueberries that I got form my sister's yard. Looks like a cool project you got going on there. I like the colors!
I'm going to an egg candeling class tomorrow. Any tips? Have y'all been to one? Is it hard to pass the excercise at the end?
Thanks! And if you have enough blueberries to make an extra cheesecake, I don't live that far away...lol
They give you all the answers for the candling test, so just enjoy yourself. The guy that taught the class we attended was Benjamin Pitts. He's a super-nice guy.
Oh, I see. You have a different technique with leaving pegs un-hooked to fill in later.
You had me worried there for a minute. Since my grandkids are in Okinawa, I have to spend my second childhood by myself.
Anybody ever call you a hooker?
Oh, I've been called much worse than that. :old

Liv, a FB friend posted that Farmer's Almanac thing about setting eggs by the signs earlier this year. I wanted to do it, but if I had, I would have been using old eggs. I think if you're collecting your own hens' eggs, you may be able get the timing right.

I thought I would share some of the chicks that hatched with y'all! These are my "keepers", we're still thinking up names for most of them so suggestions are welcome!

These two are 1/2 buff polish, 1/4 Brahma, 1/4 EE. Fingers crossed for big crests and colored eggs!

This is from Lady Who's tiny hen, we named her Popcorn!

No clue where this cutie came from for sure, but I'm HOPING she's from Flowers' OE. She matches the chick that was in the other eggtopsied olive egg.

Another mystery cutie! Super fluffy, she has a big beard and super feathery feet!

No clue on this one either, but she sure is cute, right? I can't wait to see what her colors end up as!

This chick is from the hen in my icon, Batman! She's 1/2 mystery bantam, 1/4 Brahma, 1/4 EE

Another mystery chick! SUCH a sweet little face, too. I bet this one's going to be PRETTY!

I have one like the silver and yellow one and it came from the olive egg. I have a few that look like your bunch.

I am actually going to set some on the 10th or 11th July so this will work perfectly! Who knew I was actually getting it right without thinking about it!?! Come to think about it, I actually set my current batch on 6/2---just one day before the almanac said was optimal!

Here are a few pics of a few of my girls.
