YO GEORGIANS! :)

I used to rase parrots and cockatiels when I had to tube/hand feed the chicks I would fill the crop up at time of feeding. Birds of all kinds including chickens when tube feeding fill the crop as full as you can that way you can do a couple times a day without a problem. Start with full crop in am and check periodically every few hours to make sure crop is emptying. Raw egg not good better to scramble and mix with the mush. That way she won't get sick of her crop empties slowly.
Thanks for that...since I've feed her once with the tube her crop doesn't seem like it's emptying quick at all...I didn't do it yesterday but gave her mush with grit so I'm hoping it has emptied today. If her crop is full, I shouldn't tube feed again till it's digested right?

@Flowerbh , the little Jubilee is hanging in there. Her wing feathers are starting to sprout. She lays on her side and drags herself about, and she is spunky and is drinking and eating. She gets trampled when the chick flock runs over her, but she wants to hang with them. She's doing her best to try to live and make a life of it.

Also, I took a few photos of the other birds, the lame Welsummer and the blind Orp. Please let me know if you want these two birds:

Correct she has to digest all or at least most. before you tube again. If you feed too often sour crop likes to rase it's ugly head.

Yay! I have 35 pullets I have been waiting for to start laying. Today my Barred Rock, Barbie, laid her 1st egg! She is the first from this group of 35! I'm surprised because she is barely 'red faced' and she laid before the golden comets!! But I know it was hers! I was there and watched!

Bruce, what size eggs do the AC chickens lay? May be interested in those.
ACs lay medium light-brown eggs, and they also are not prolific layers, so you wouldn't be interested in those. They're not a utility breed. ACs are ornamental and are more for folks who want a black chicken with the fibro gene. ACs are black inside and out, including their combs, wattles, bones, and most of their internal organs.

The lame Jubilee Orp chick is struggling and getting trampled by the other chicks, so I think I'm going to lose her anyway. Probably should have just culled her on day one. Since you don't seem to be interested in the lame Welsummer or blind Buff Orp girls, I will either give those away or cull them if I have no takers.

BTW, the two Mottled Orps I got from you, Mable and Matilda, initially laid a large egg and a medium egg, respectively. Mabel now lays extra-large eggs, and Matilda lays large eggs. It may have something to do with either their maturity or the feed and supplements we feed them. My Chocolate Orps lay nice large eggs.

Lost my little FBCM girl PeeWee. She was found dead in her pen this morning. I think she was egg bound because she was going through the motions of trying to lay in her pen yesterday. Christopher gave her straw, and she made a nest with it. She also may have had an infected ovary because she recently started growing wattles and a larger comb. She is still in the pen now, so I don't know for sure the cause. I'm not ready to face dealing with removing her. I'm sure going to miss her. She was special.
