well, I'm getting ready to leave for college, all my chickens are good and I'm super sad to leave them.
Thank you everyone for filling my life with intresting things and new information about chickens in general.
Thank you all and see you guys this summer (I'll still be watching this thread but I'm not going to post.)
Hey folks, just a little update here:
First, the vintage chicken boxes have been sold; there are two incubator sets left, and five 40" dog crates.
The other thing I wanted to offer is the fresh feed that I recently mixed. I have 200 lbs available in 50# sacks. I formulated this mix myself, and it's made from good-quality ingredients, and it has a good balance of complete essential amino acids. What I mixed is a 16.5% protein layer feed. You still would need to supplement it with with free eggshell, oyster shell, or some other form of calcium carbonate. I offer my birds free crushed eggshell on the side, so they eat what they want when they want. Had I kept my chickens, this feed is what the adults birds would have been eating. If your birds are used to eating crumbles or layer pellets, this feed should be introduced slowly until they adjust to it. One of the nice things about this feed is that there are NO BINDERS such as sodium bentonite clay, and thus, very little dust. Anyway, here's a list of the ingredients:
