YO GEORGIANS! :)

Totally not poultry related, but I'm excited to I have to share. At least one of my goats is pregnant! I got a handheld ultrasound a bit ago and finally found a little fetus moving around in there. Once I get someone to help hold the goats still I'll check the others. Looks like March or April for kids.

I think Cotton is the father of these chicks the bigger of my two white roos. I have a Cochin sitting on three more good eggs. She started with seven but only three are left that may be alive. She has only the frizzle eggs left. They could either be Silkie or Frizzles or maybe Satin. I would like some Lavender Silkies soon. They seem to be hard to find though.
Well the two good eggs hatched from under the Cochin today here are the new ones.

So here are some of the chicks I kept from the last hatch. There is one chick that was born about a week later under one of the hens. As you can see, it is just not growing. It should be almost the same size as the others. I don't know what is wrong with it.....it eats and drinks and runs around. It's just not thriving....All I can do is wait and see what happens.
I do plan on putting the little one in with the new chicks when they hatch Christmas Eve/Christmas. I think that if it is with chicks more its size, it might do better....

On another note, the goats were enjoying the wood pile the other morning.

Don't you want to come and visit me and bring your ultrasound machine and test my two goats? We saw them messing around and thought March 21 on one goat and April3 on the other.....but the crazy male just keeps trying to do the nasty. Is that normal?

Where do you live again? I don't mind practicing. It's normal for the buck to flirt and try, not so much for bred goats to stand and let him complete the act. I thought my goats were bred for January, but turns out nope, not til March or April. He was a very young buck though.

I am excited that the two double yolkers are still brewing in the incubator. I will put them in my mini bator for lockdown on Thursday so I can watch more closely and help if needed.
