YO GEORGIANS! :)

Sounds good. Stay in touch and maybe we can do some swapping sometime. My plan also is to have a good flock going by spring. I have 3 RIR hens now and 7 RIR chicks just hatched, 8 Marans chicks just hatched, 1 easter egger hen roo and 1 Buff roo. Im regretting selling all my EE chicks this week now since my Marans hatch did not go so well. But with what I have now I should be ok by spring plus I think I will try one more hatch in August if I can get some eggs I want soon.
I have a flock of about 300 right now. I have banties and standard breeds and everything is pure breeds but I need to get a system worked out. I am still kind of new. This is my second year. I have cages of purebred chicks growing up and a bunch of adults. My problem is that I bought a bunch of banties in February and I didn't realize they don't sell very good around here. Most folks wanted standard layers so I had to sell a huge amount of chickens and took a loss. Now I am rebuilding my flock with standard birds. I have black copper marans, buff orphingtons, production reds, Tophats, silkies, standard and bantam Cochins in most every color, Frizzles, some old English bantams, silverlaced sebrights, golden laced sebrights, tons of easter eggers, welsummers, cuckoo marans, barnevelders, salmon faverolles, white leghorns, golden laced wyandottes, bantam blue laced red wyandottes, bantam easter eggers, barred rocks, and I have hens sitting on speckled Sussex, welsummers, dark Cornish, Barnevelders, true white americaunas, and some mixes I am just honing my hatching skills on. Tomorrow I will be getting some button quail eggs also. I have Cayuga, Peking, and blue Swedish ducks also and some Emden geese. I am sure I am forgetting some...lol

Hi. Do you sell your LF Cochins? If so, are they show, breeding, or pet quality? Also, what colors do you have? I have black, blue, and splash SQ birds and am looking to add some additional colors to my flock. I'm particularly interested in white, red brown, and gold or silver laced.

I am currently using fine hay as bedding in my coop, I read somewhere that this will give my chickens respritory problems. Is that true? And what does everyone else use for bedding. I have a big coop so it needs to be cheap. Please help
