YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hi everyone! So glad to see new faces on this thread! We used to have so many people that there would be like 10 pages of post in only half a day! I love the sharing of our chickens! I'm in Dawsonville.....North GA mountains!
Don't know what happened to everyone. We still hear from a few every so often. There are only a couple of oldies on the Silkie Thread as well. My chickens are continuously multiplying. Can't sell enough here in So Georgia. North GA is to far for most people to come. I have never shipped any because It is usually to hot down here but I don't have a PayPal account either. Roos are hard to get rid of. Somewhere there is a better resolve to the business side of things. I just cant find it in So GA. Flower you seem to have a good reasourse there in North Georgia. My Silkies are beautiful and I have sold quite a few but not nearly enough to keep the SOP going.. I do have Show Quality Silkies but not big here. I would need more space to do it right. So have decided to stop my breeding project. Anyway I still love them and will keep some but need to get rid of the rest. Wish I knew someone who would continue what I have started.

I'm south GA too.....on the Alabama side of the state. Most of people who have chickens around her either want dual purpose or egg production. More are starting to dabble with meat birds. I think my stepson knows someone with show chickens, but it's rare around here.

I'm sorry you are thinking about stopping your breeding project. Can you contact the 4H groups? I have too many chickens right now, but come Spring, everyone wants young hens, so I will just keep them and grow them out and sell them later.
