YO GEORGIANS! :)

Yes isn't it Amazing. I got up yesterday and there was a big ole moon and stars. By the time I had driven 10 miles to work it was raining.

Hi all! Last night I was sitting on my front porch and saw two armadillos run across the yard. I know they are prevalent in parts of Georgia but this is the first we've seen of any on our property. Have any of you had issues with armadillos as chicken predators? Do they eat chickens? I know they tunnel horribly (Mom has tracks all over her yard) and I'm wondering if they will tunnel into a chicken run. I have fencing buried about 2 feet down all the way around the run but I have no idea how far down these things dig.

Any info is appreciated! :)

We normally take'em out before anything happens. They eat chicken eggs I do believe.

I am taking a poll. I have 12 runner duck and 16 various chicken eggs in my incubator. They are due to hatch next week. I have the opportunity to order some chicks I have been wanting and I can get all pullets. They can deliver these chicks to come about a week after my eggs hatch and I can raise them all together.....BUT that gives me about 31 chickens! Of course half of those I am hatching are my friends and some of those will be males and will have to be rehomed. And I did just lose 7 hens to predators this month! So, do I make the order now or do I wait and see what hatches? Do I need all these chicks??? BTW, I only plan on keeping a pair of the Runner ducks. All the others are for sale! So, what do you think?

Im in the gainesville area and looking for more chicks let me know what ya have if any one has some to sell
Are you interested in ordering any from a hatchery? I will be ordering from Ideal Hatchery if you want to join in. I live near Dawsonville and my friend lives on the east side of 400 towards Gainsville. We have cochins and EEs hatching next week. Some of those will be for sale.

I am about 45 minutes from you. I have some chicks that are a week old being raised by broodies but they are mixed. What are you looking for exactly? I have some adult birds I could sell and some ducks. Just let me know what you are looking for. :)
