YO GEORGIANS! :)

My SLW hen was still quite young when I lost her. But she was already a decent layer and a very quiet girl. A bit flighty but I got her as a started pullet too so I can't judge.

The roo was amazing. Loved him. Between the pair I have nothing but good to say for the breed. :) I love a nice laced pattern too!

I am also getting some SLWs this April from McMurray. But they will all be pullets. I don't own a roo, just want some more decent layers, and love the silver pattern. Silver-laced wyandottes, silver-laced polish, silver-laced cochins, and silver sebrights....

Yeah, I think my bias to the silver pattern is obvious, lol
I agree! I love all things Silver Laced, too!

One of the few things I have not seen, is a silver-laced BANTAM cochin. I'm thinking I can get one of those somehow, and cross it with my frizzle cochins.....

I feel a project breed coming on.

So, most of you know that we use our home as a vacation rental. Well, most the kids who visit here love love love the little chicks. But, we all know that chicks grow up and I can't keep hatching chicks! I have too many already! So I decided to get a pair of Seramas, the worlds smallest chickens. They are Malaysia's #1 indoor pet above cats and dogs! They are sweet and friendly and best yet, they don't get big....we are talking about a full grown hen only weighing around 12-19 ozs. They come in different sizes from a, b, c, tiny and micro. Anyway, by having this pair of Seramas, I will always have those small chickens that kids like to hold. Here is my new indoor coop and Twizler, the little roo, is only about 6" tall and his new wife, Licorice. They seem to love it so far. The nest is upstairs. I will be putting in two roosts, one upstairs and one downstairs. The ramp is not in yet either,. Will finish it all tomorrow and get a new nipple water bottle for them. Hopefully, one day, they will have babies!

And, yes, in the warm weather, they will get to play outside!

FINALLY, the last two chicks are hatched and in the brooder. I have already broken down the incubator and tossed it in the dishwasher, and wiped down the area where it sat. I might be able to go to sleep tonight, lol!

It's supposed to be a high of 51 tomorrow, so I may take them outside for a short romp, long enough to get some photos for you all. Two of the easter eggers are already looking incredibly fluffy!

Lol, you should have seen the brooder a couple of hours ago. It was just one giant sheet of sleeping chicks! You couldn't tell where one stopped and the other started, aside from the occasional color and pattern change! I tried to get a pic of it, but I woke them up, so I gave up on the camera.
