YO GEORGIANS! :)

We've got the same here.  It started this morning for us at 7am with freezing rain and sleet.  Now it's been snowing for hours and hasn't stopped yet.  I've seen one car go by and the mail carrier.  We had school here today when almost everyone else at least five counties around had closed.  They finally closed ours early after the roads got slippery.  One time they closed school because it might rain too much and that day was warm and sunny.  Makes no sense.

Yea, I heard Bartow Co schools waited too late to release school. There were reports of kids stranded at school, and many buses couldn't get the kids home.

Hahahah! You guys are talking about the plant actually getting big enough to have ears of corn on them! My chickens would eat the seed before it even grew! And if they missed a seed, they would be sure to eat the corn stalk as soon as it was 2" tall!
I was trying to answer a question. I assumed the chickens wouldn't be right there in the garden spot. My chickens stay in the garden in the winter but not when I've planted anything. In the summer they are in the cooler area of the yard. But who knows where the OP grows her corn. Maybe she grows it in the run? HAHAHA. I would bet not.

Edited to add: I actually grew up in a small farming community that was surrounded by corn fields.

Psshhh, I can't even get grass to grow in the run! For that matter, I can't even get the wheat seeds from their own scratch grain to grow in there!

If I flip their water bins over to dump them, and happen to have any grass TRYING to grow under it, the plants are gone by the time I drag the hose back to rinse and refill the water bin!

And that just gave me another idea...

It can be a pain at first because of the work involved in separating the stuff, but I could pick those wheat seeds out of their scratch feed, and grow that for the geese to graze on!

Y'all. It took me 2.5hrs (usually a 25min drive) to get home from work with a friend who drove four hours and multiple detours just to get to me! LOL. My dad just got home from a usual 30min drive.. Took him seven hours. This is insane!!!
