My fur/feather kids are great but DANG it I wish I'd watched them today. Went to the coop just now and had two eggs.. My BSL's usual large dark egg.. But the other was rather small and a very light buff color. Which makes me wonder since my RSL (my only other layer as far as I know) lays a BIG egg, every time. AND when I compare hers to this small one, all of hers are just a hint of a shade darker gold than this small one.

Dang it! I really hope it's from my BO but I'll not know for sure until I see three eggs in a day or catch her in the act. I look at her face though and think, gosh she just doesn't look *quite* "there" yet..

Here's a pic.. Two RSL eggs (I picked her smallest I have) with the mystery egg in between.. And a BSL egg far right just for more color comparison.

See? The color, the texture, size and even shape are a bit fishy to me..

I SO hope so!! I'm glad you think so too, sometimes it's hard to tell if I'm just hopeful lol.

I'm really hoping My RSL will lay by dark. Sometimes she waits til strangely close to roost so there's hope.

Forgot to mention- thought the BO isn't fully mature in the face, I did just remember that I've seen her squatting for the roo in the last couple weeks. So there we have it. That makes me feel better about the likelihood.
