abmaddox, who are the cute ducks and turkey? They look like they are as ready as my gang are to have the mud gone!

I should clarify my turkey price "vent". That was my initial investment in three adult pure Narragansett turkeys to get an unrelated breeding trio. The first pair was a proven pair, and the second hen was from a free range organic farm. I would do it again in a minute! The eggs for Narragansett turkeys usually run about $8 each (hatching), and poults about $12. Adults range from $60-$70 and up (depending on free range, organic, proven breeders, etc.

They are fun to have around; I have a hen who is very curious and will follow me around the farm if I let her out. She also plays with coat buttons, shoe laces, and polka dots on boots. The girls have so many vocalizations and are a lot of fun to listen to. The only cons so far: they fly and need a covered pen, and hens appear to get attached to offspring that grows up in the flock. It took a few days for the mom of the Jake I sold to quit calling for him (although the Tom was glad to see him go, lol).

There, that's your Narragansett lesson for the day :). I'm off to the farm and TSC -because the little Zookeeper remembered about the chicks.

Lol!but I'm still trying to figure out gender and breed. Turkeys are aliens!

Looks like an Eastern hen. If it's just a really young jake, that dangly fleshy bit above the beak will continue to grow, and the bird can lengthen and shorten it at will.
