YO GEORGIANS! :)

Ok, that's it! I'm going to join the GA thread because the SC thread is dead. I'm only minutes from savannah anyway.

So hi from SC. I have only four girls (so far). A Delaware, a light and a buff brahma, and a RIR or NH. Got them from Meyer in sept and got my first egg yesterday, plus two more today. Woohoo!!

WELCOME! We'll adopt ya!

We're so active that between the time I went to bed last night, and the time I got home from work today, I said "screw it, whatever happened on those pages will just go unread!"

I think there were about 20+ pages to read.

Seriously! I spend more time reading than participating!!

Okay y'all, I'm gonna get off for the evening. Talk to y'all in the morning! Be safe, and stay alert with this weather! I hear it will be the worst in the wee hours of the morning.

'Night!

Don't quote me on this, I'm no expert. But after seeing the GLW chicks at the Rome TSC today, and seeing photos of the SLW chicks, I'd say yours is Gold. Below is a SLW, according to Google
big_smile.png

It might have been a mix in there. I did end up with one of THE darkest chicks in the mix. I told the guy "just grab one, and let me check his wing, please"

He grabbed the one that looked almost all black. He does have yellow on his belly, you just can't see it in this photo. None of the other chicks happened to have any golden down on them from what we could tell. Now that I see this photo on my computer (blown up to a much larger size) I see that he does have a slight golden brown tint on his head. So yeah he probably is a GLW. But I still think that bin was MOSTLY the SLW.

Well more bad news. the same dog killed another one of our chickens the day after he killed buddy. the owner of the dog called animal control on us for letting some of our chickens free range.

Jingle Bells, shotgun shells, doggie says goodbye. He killed a hen, so I did him in, now the other chicks can play, hey!

If the birds are free-ranging on your own property how is his off-leash dog somehow vindicated? I'm not about shooting a dog for doing what a lot of them will do but somebody needs to do something about a dog that is repeatedly off of its property while off lead and then killing your birds..
