YO GEORGIANS! :)

So fellow Georgians, does anyone believe that we might have another cold spell this upcoming week.... Oh I hope not. WSB weatherman was giving long range forecast of possible cold week on 2/24 give or take a few days.....I hope not. These last few days have been great on egg laying and happy aninmals.... Don't want that tooo change!!!! Besides I have babies in a brooder and more to come out this weekend...

From the GA DNR website today:

"Protection
It is important to remember that Canada geese are a protected species under state and federal law. It is illegal to hunt, kill, sell, purchase or possess Canada geese except according to Georgia's migratory bird regulations."

The migratory bird regulations specifies the opening and closing of the allowed hunting seasons for each type of waterfowl. So I guess anyone in the state keeping one as a pet might tell that bird to keep a low profile...

We are using the cups in our automatic waterer. We were a little worried that the girls would not figure out, but they have been fine with them.
They are similar to these. We attached to buckets for some and to PVC to fashion an automatic waterer. Has anyone had any experience with these?

I'd love to see a photo of them attached to buckets; I've not had any experience with those but have been curious about them.

BARGAIN!
I hope you realize that the silkies of mine that everyone loves, came from your eggs last year! LOL!

I'm not sure about a cold spell. I use weather.com for all of my forecasts. And that one shows lows will dip into the 20's again on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week (26th, 27th, 28th) but the highs will stay around 50. That's for the town of Jackson, at least. Not sure about Marietta.

And yes the warmer weather has done wonders for me too. I just came in and logged back on to announce my FRIZZLE HEN just laid her first egg today! The roo that she is with still probably isn't old enough for them to be fertile yet. But the hen is laying, and she could *technically* be put with any roo and create some frizzle babies.

Gah! I hope not. I. Trying to find a local source for turkey poults/eggs and this cold crap is not helpful.

Hey guys! Does anyone in the Canton/Woodstock area want to sell me a pretty rooster? I am looking for Welsummer, White Leghorn, Brown Leghorn or anything pretty.. Thanks for your help!!!

I have two that walking the green mile right now. Sitting out in crates right now awaiting their death sentences to be carried out. They are both VERY aggressive when it comes to mating. They're young and haven't gotten it figured out just yet. They are chicken rapist 1 and chicken rapist 2. I tried to talk abmaddox into taking them but she was the one that dubbed them chicken rapist and sentenced them to death. Let me know if you want pictures.
