YO GEORGIANS! :)

Did I mention I have the whole day to myself to do as I please? First stop the hardware store for products unrelated to poultry. Then to the farm to decide where the next chicken pen will be going. I am leaving just as soon as this flippin cold natured diesel gets warmed up.

@GAMarans left you unattended??? :eek:

Yep. And wanna know what happens when she isn't babysitting me? 4 new metal chick feeders, 1 new hovabatr 2362N, a new goose egg turner to go in it, and a new 3' x 8' chick cage. No new animals today though. And the Canada Geese are back.

Thanks! I've got oats, but from what I have found out on the net they don't sprout as good as barley. I may try wheat and see how it does. I put some scratch grain in and they are sprouting, which is cool!

Wheat sprouts awesomely! I've been sprouting than and flax. Wheatgrasskits.com has barley but it's pricey.

Where are you? I'm up for three - temperament is not crucial, but if at least one might let a four year old pet it but not pick it up, that would be awesome. Oh, and I love orange cats, but again, not a requirement. They just need to be decent mousers who don't eat grown chickens

I'm in North Georgia (about an hour due north of downtown ATL, about 40ish minutes from Cartersville.

I don't have any orange. I have mostly black or black/white. They are all excellent mousers. I haven't let chickens free range around them yet to see how they do... We were out with our two grown chickens earlier this week and none of them messed with them, but we were right there.

I am thinking that is what I am going to have to do.. I can get wheat just can't get barley. What kind of wheat do you get. Is is labeled feed or seed? I want to make sure I don't get something that I can't sprout.
