YO GEORGIANS! :)

We don't have any yet. We can't wait to get a few, but we are getting all the information and recommendations for a coop and types of chickens. We want fresh eggs for our family. How long have you been raising them?

I am brand new to this. I've wanted chickens for a few years but we are, well were, a military family and moved every couple of years. Hubby finally retired and we have a permanent home now...Yay! I had planned on waiting a little while for chickens (until I got the house in order) but hubby bought a couple for our granddaughter on a whim. Soooo, chickens sooner than I expected. I'm okay with that though...I did my research on breeds and chose LF Cochins for their docility since my grands will be playing with them. Chicken house is almost finished and tomorrow is hatch day.

What breeds are you considering?

The red brooder light is throwing off my pics and the flash scares my babies so I went techno. This little gal is always the first to great me, always sits by me and is a crack up...does her expression give the ham in her away? She is my Astralorp. My wee little EE in the back ground seems to have no fear and loves to play leap frog off of everything in the brooder including her sisters.

Hey Georgia Friends, I hatched two Fawn and White Runner Ducks on May 4th. Our daughter had surprised us with the duck eggs. We really love these little ones, but right now is not a good time for us to have runner ducks. We are having to rent our home out as a vacation rental (http://www.vrbo.com/438003) and we just don't think we should have ducks running around while guest are here....plus we are pet friendly and people are bringing dogs all the time. Soooo, with a very heavy heart, we are going to sell these two sweeties. If you are interested, please PM me. I don't know what their sexes are, but I do know one is much bigger than the other one, one is more quiet than the other one, and there is a slight difference in coloring between the two....so we were guessing a male and female. They are fawn and white runner ducks. Please, we are only looking for those who understand and want Runner Ducks and can love them and give them everything they need.

First day outside with their chick family. (leaf stuck on chest)

Boo Hoo, I hate this.....but just can't keep them at this time!
