I get my chickens from a farmer next door to me. He has some that will be hatching this week I think I can ask. He also sells the at smiley's ones he decides he cant sell them from his house. Normally from $3-$5 depending on the age. He has Marans , Langshan, and welsommers.

That would be good.....are his marans, black copper, coo koo, or what? I would like to see what he actually has that he wants to sell. What about that hatchery, do you know there website or number?
 
I travel up I-85, 285, 75 and 575 to Canton, GA monthly from FL.  I'm looking for a pullet or hatching eggs of the following large fowl breeds:

Silver lace Wyandotte
Silver Lace Polish
Partridge Rocks or another Partridge type
Ameraucana (lavender, blue wheaten, etc.)
BCM

Or might be interested in other pure breeds too.

I've struggled w scrambled hatching eggs recently and hope to just pick them up to hatch or have a chick/pullet.   Thanks!

The farmer that I get my chicks from gets his eggs from the guy that owns the Shoppers Guide in Cochran. 478-934-6047 to the Shoppers guide. I will get with the farmer and see about the next hatch.

So, I have been waiting for my new squatting pullet to lay her first egg. Today I found this really tiny egg in the nest. Now, I have to decide whether it is really a pullet egg or an oops egg. My Barred Rock has only laid 4 eggs all month and she is only 18 months old. She hasn't laid any eggs in the past 2 weeks. So, maybe this is her ooops egg. Maybe she will start up laying again now. She has had an oops egg before. I actually hope it is an oops egg because I am hoping my new pullet will lay colored eggs! I will crack it open tonight to see if their is a yolk inside.
 
Good news I only have to wear my back brace for 10 weeks and i should be getting my flock back next week and my cousin is going to build them a nice new coop. I'm so ready to see my babies

I don't know why I keep looking at Craigslist. I'm so tempted to get some more chickens. We already have 24 for now. We'd have to build another coop. I may need a support group.

welp just ordered wellsummers n bbs n lav ameracuanas . on a sad note lost ear rings today. he will be sadly missed. he was a great silver laced maran roo. rip ear rings. maybe gone but never forgotten.

So sorry. I know how you feel. We lost our Blue copper Marans roo about 5 months ago. Our new roo is only 18 months old....still hasn't gotten many tail feathers! But he carries the green/blue egg gene, so I will be having fun mixing and matching him with hens next spring! Just wish he wasn't white. I like colors in roosters.
