Hot Day building a chick playpen for a few new babies coming soon. I gave my chickens a mister and they just sort of looked at me like I was nuts. Only my lead hen Bossy ventured over a couple of times. She is always the first and I am sure will teach the others.

Making use of a feed bag as a sun and rain shield.



 
We just found a baby rabbit. It's nest was washed away by all this rain. We found two other babies dead. Does anyone have experience with newborn rabbit rescue? I am putting it in my brooder for the night. I read that they only need to be fed twice a day. Anyone care to help me out here? Thanks!

take me some pics and i can help! i used to raise rabbits =o)
 
well it's done... I re-homed my entire flock and coop. I feel kinda empty...so sad I put all this time effort and work into these chickens and I dont even get to see their first eggs =o(
Yes we will get more chickens but I really loved them. I ended up re-homing nearly the entire flock to one person who is going to love and take care of the babies.

Now to sellt he rest of our things so we can get outta dodge =o)

I visited Death Valley a few years back. While we were there, they were having a 100 mile running race across the desert! It was 122 degrees! These people were crazy! They have their toe nails surgically removed before the race because if they don't, their feet swell so much from the heat, that their toenails will burst off their feet! They have 7 pairs of shoes in different sizes because of the swelling! They say the runners get delirious as they run! It was crazy! We saw them running. They wear white gauzy head dresses while they run! Too hot for me!
