I'm so sorry. I don't know what to do or to tell you since I have no experience with this type of injury. I am just so sorry this has happened. It's always heartbreaking to lose an animal or for them to be hurt.

Chickens can survive with no feet. There are some websites on Google about them. Just make sure you have a great antibiotic cream and that you keep the chicks away from other healthy ones so they don't get pecked on while they heal. Infection will be your greatest concern. You may want to give your chicks some oral antibiotics, too, like Tylan50. Good luck.

You may also want to use hardtack instead of chicken wire so that the raccoons can's reach in and grab your chicks.

I'm starting on my new coop tomorrow. It will be a 8'x20' walk in! The neighbor whose dog wiped out half of my flock had mounds of reclaimed wood he is letting me use for it.

That's awesome! And very nice of him to do so! Shows some neighborly caring. lol. Can't wait to see how it comes along!

Proud Mama here. My two Tolbunt Polish are now 2 weeks old. I guess I'm only just partially a chicken farmer because my memory of having to cull the 3rd still bothers me. These little bits are happy and healthy taking a field trip up to my office…they did not appreciate it and showed my by clearing their days feed on the floor. No problem I'm a Mother of 3 so ….clean up isle 3….and then on to cheap cheeping with them before taking them back to the only world they know..their brooder.

Sorry you had to cull one-that's always hard to do. Those 2 are absolutely adorable! If I keep looking at pics like this, my chicken wish list is going to be longer than my grocery list!
