@SilkieGuy I'm so sorry to hear that! It's been awful weather down here for chickens with all the rain and then the freezing cold... I don't know anyone who has laying hens at the moment, sorry. But I will look around and keep my ears open! I know we will have chicks in a couple weeks if he is interested.

I have been battling a respiratory illness in my flock. The pen with 8 hens and a roo are sick, well all except 2 hens for the moment. 2 are really bad and I have them in the house so I can force feed and water them. This is day 7 of antibiotics and vitamins and electrolytes. Everyone seems to be improving except one gal in the house with me-she can't see well. She actually has started trying to drink on her own but seems as though she can't focus- she misses the bowl and dunks her head too far in the water. I hope she recovers but only time will tell. I hope no one ever has to go through this. It is an awful thing to watch and you feel so helpless.
Today should be the last day of antibiotics but I don't know if they are well enough to stop. Should I switch to another and give it for 5-7 days or just stop this one and see if they keep improving? I'm giving the terramycin now . Any suggestions welcome.

Have you tried VetRex or Tylan? I have never had good luck using terramycin with chickens.

Everyone is a lot better except the 2 hens and they are still hanging in there even though they have not ate on their own in 5 days. I continue to force feed pellets and soaked dog food. I am going to start the Tylan tomorrow but I have to use the soluble as I can't give shots.(I'm a wimp- I faint with needles close by). They both appear to have lost their vision in one eye and diminished sight in the other and I just don't understand how Bronchitis or other respiratory illness could cause that. Maybe I missed another illness with these 2 and the respiratory is a secondary illness. They were the first 2 to get sick.

I am very sorry you have to deal with this! I do not know why their vision would be affected but hopefully they will get better and be able to see enough to eat and drink. Finger crossed they get better for you!

I used Tylan before. I did the shots......used to it. I had a diabetic dog (pug) for 10 years and he had to have 2 shots a day! It worked well. The chickens may be bothered by blurry vision because of the drainage of the mucus from the respiratory illness....Do they have bubbly eyes? You can use human visine (allergy type) in their eyes. May help with the vision.
 
Loving my new ducks from @Flowerbh!! They are so happy with their hen! They have been in and out of the pool and running around with each other!(: Behaved like angels on the ride home, just laid down and took a nap ( must have been tired after the long ride). Will post some more photos when it stops raining.

My Tolbunt babies are 10 weeks old and still in their ginormous brooder. Santa brought me my miter saw and router so as soon as the rain lets up it's Storybook coop building time :) In the main coop my remaining 11 assorted gals are acting so much more happier without the aggressive rooster to dodge. My bearded white silkie is out everyday now instead of hiding in a corner of the coop.
