Welcome to BYC. I am quite familiar with that part of Georgia. I grew up in Coffee County Alabama.

Wow, nice! I might have to get some hatching eggs from you when they get older! My Tolbunt babies are 10 weeks old and still in their ginormous brooder. Santa brought me my miter saw and router so as soon as the rain lets up it's Storybook coop building timeIn the main coop my remaining 11 assorted gals are acting so much more happier without the aggressive rooster to dodge. My bearded white silkie is out everyday now instead of hiding in a corner of the coop.

my babies are sweet. It is true that this breed is different, not only in looks but in how they act. That head dress covers their eyes making them a breed that has to be kept with like birds (so that head does not get pecked badly), protected and close to their coop (they can't see how to get back very well if too far out). If you are interested in one day owning Polish you should check out the polish club web site and make sure you purchase from a responsible breeder. Because this is a rare breed it can draw people to breed only for the money, not quality. I admit being new myself to this breed and constantly researching and asking questions from long term breeders and showman.
