I'll probably grow it anyway, and just let them have the cobs themselves. And I might go for carrots for something ground-level (they can eat the green part that grows above-ground).
Just remember that most corn plants get one or two ears per stalk. Years ago only one - now days maybe two. Corn plants take a lot of water.
 
It is FINALLY snowing in Jackson. I sent my sister a text, and about 10 minutes later, I hear my niece running through the house SCREAMING that it's snowing.

Hahahah! You guys are talking about the plant actually getting big enough to have ears of corn on them! My chickens would eat the seed before it even grew! And if they missed a seed, they would be sure to eat the corn stalk as soon as it was 2" tall!
 
Oh I start all of my seeds indoors. Usually they go in those little Jiffy pellets, but this particular corn plant ended up in a laundry soap cup with sphagnum moss in it.... don't ask how, lmao
