YO GEORGIANS! :)

I would love to go, and that's the plan unless something weird happens. I've never been to a show, and I've only been at this for a year, so I don't have anything to enter, but I would love to meet people and learn new things. Suddenly I can think of plenty of questions: are non-exhibitors allowed? Are there generally a lot of birds for sale? I mean, should I empty my pocketbook before I go, lol? That buff hen is awfully pretty...

Yeah people are allowed. You can buy birds from the sale/swap thing that they hold. This is my first major show.

Peeled myself out of bed at least long enough to go feed them. Although I put food down, the ones from the main pen are still free-ranging, so they didn't touch a single bit of it. They're all more interested in the ground in the woods, where they can scratch leaves aside and find bugs.

That'll teach me to get out of bed to care for them! lol

But the others that are still penned up were happy to see fresh food. I fed them some of the Kale that my mom brought over, and an ear of fresh corn in each pen.

I have partridge and splash bantam Silkies with plenty of "fluff".

I am trying to increase my own silkie "collection", but I will have splash covered soon. I'm not really in to the partridge color, and only really missing buff now (which JHarper may be helping with that soon...). But I do think I need some more white, as every falls in love with my giant "cottonballs" lol!

Hi! and
welcome-byc.gif
What part of Ga are you in? I'm in Southeast GA. Nice to have you join in.

Doing awful right now. Very sick. "Camping" this thread on my phone because I don't want to get out of bed. Been here almost all day, too.

But I'm about to down a tall glass of water and get some more sleep. I have driver certification tomorrow and I CAN NOT miss it.

Happy chickens here! It was fun watching them sunbathe most of the day. I'm loving the warm weather too. Makes me anxious for spring though. How are you?

Hope you feel better by morning!

I really hope this illness can't affect chickens. I caught wind of a rotten egg in the incubator earlier, but with stuffed sinuses, I had a hard time finding the source.

So I had to hold each egg close enough to my nose to touch my nostrils. And even then I still barely smelled it. So all of the good eggs that touched my nose probably got my germs on them.

Hopefully it's one of those things that only affects humans, or even just mammals, and the chicks will be okay.
