Yeah. Thought I'd go for a small batch....Lmbo! 9 of those are silkies. I got seramas and Leghorns from LTygress, plus some EE, OE, and I don't remember what the brown she gave me is. *shrugs* with this hatch, breed is no biggie. It'll either give me eggs or go to freezer camp.

The brown is 3/4 EE, and 1/4 plymouth rock. I haven't got any adults from that yet, but you will get either more olive eggers, or some brown layers. I am hoping it's olive eggers though!

Doing awful right now. Very sick. "Camping" this thread on my phone because I don't want to get out of bed. Been here almost all day, too.

But I'm about to down a tall glass of water and get some more sleep. I have driver certification tomorrow and I CAN NOT miss it.

Is everyone getting this drenching rainfall? I hate being cooped up inside when there are things to do outside. I should know not to complain though-come July we will be wishing for it to come.

I would love to go, and that's the plan unless something weird happens. I've never been to a show, and I've only been at this for a year, so I don't have anything to enter, but I would love to meet people and learn new things. Suddenly I can think of plenty of questions: are non-exhibitors allowed? Are there generally a lot of birds for sale? I mean, should I empty my pocketbook before I go, lol? That buff hen is awfully pretty...

I've never been to one either except at a fair so it's a first for me. It's been 2.5 years since I started chicken keeping. I was eggcited to know there was going to be one just down the road from me. It will be eggciting to meet folks from BYC.

None of my girls would even step out of the coop during the snowfall. They were very happy in their nice warm houses!

I am doing so much better, everyone. Thank you! I still feel a little stuffed up, but no where near as bad as I did yesterday or the day before!

The leghorn is definitely gone though. Still no sign of her today. Although I haven't had time to really get out and look because I've been posting and reposting an ad on Craigslist that follows guidelines, but someone has been bombing with flags left and right. The ads are barely making it to the actual listings before they are flagged off!

That's why I don't like Craigslist some days. It's probably the person I referenced a few pages back, as he has been known to flag competition many times before. This is the first time I was the selected target though. But I still have BYC!

I'm not going to the Newnan show, in case anyone is wondering. I have to work that day. But the good news is, despite standing out in the bad weather with that sinus infection yesterday, I got my driver certification DONE and I'm ready to dive in to work. I gotta support the chicken habit somehow! And chicken math never subtracts or divides! It only adds and multiplies! Even with that missing hen, I'm still expecting 42 chicks to arrive in April, plus the chicks I have hatching out now between two incubators!

So it's nice outside today, and sunny, and beautiful. I just hope this sun will do some drying on that mud out back!
